Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb military chief, has arrived in The Hague where he will face a tribunal on war crimes and genocide charges, CNN reports.

The former general was arrested in Serbia on May 26, after more than a decade on the run. He was flown to The Netherlands hours after Serbia's war crimes court rejected his appeal against his extradition.

"Mladic was being processed at the detention center at The Hague that holds suspects for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia," CNN said on its page citing tribunal spokeswoman Nerma Jelacic.

Mladic, who is to make his first appearance in court within 48 hours, earlier pleaded not guilty to all charges.

His lawyer, Milos Saljic, who earlier said the 69-year-old alleged war criminal may not live to see the start of his trial at the UN war crimes tribunal, said on Tuesday his defendant experienced emotional and physical troubles before his departure to The Netherlands.

"It was difficult for him to move, he trembled and showed emotional instability - he could laugh and then suddenly start crying," Saljic told RIA Novosti.

A Belgrade court earlier ruled Mladic fit enough to travel to the UN court.

The Serbian government denied financial support to the defense team, saying it may only pay Mladic's detention costs of 200 euro per month and buy tickets to The Hague for his relatives.

"We expect Russia's aid," Mladic's lawyer said.

Mladic is accused of committing war crimes during the Bosnian War, including over the 1995 massacre of some 8,000 Muslim men and boys in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica.
