The head of the Federal Drug Control Service (FDCS) has recommended to increase the consumption of parsley in meals and explained that the ban imposed on the plant by the Russian Federal Service on Consumers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance applies only to its seeds.

“Parsley is a healthy product and I recommend increasing its use in meals. I would like to reassure everyone, it is safe to eat,”  the head of FDCS, Viktor Ivanov said.

According to him, only parsley seeds have been listed as a banned product by the Russian Federal Service on Consumers’ Rights Protection and Human Well-Being Surveillance. “They are being used for the production of dietary supplements in food,” he clarified.
