Russian aircraft leasing company Ilyushin Finance Co., part of United Aircraft Corporation, and Ukraine's Antonov aircraft maker signed a $300 million deal on Tuesday to supply 10 An-158 short-haul airliners to foreign customers.
Under the deal, the planes will be supplied to Latin American countries from 2012 to 2014.
Ilyushin Finance has built a portfolio of firm orders and options for 150 An-148/158 airliners for Russian and foreign customers.
The An-158 is a stretched variant of the 85-seat An-148 regional jet with a payload of 99 passengers. It has an increased takeoff weight of 43.7 tons and a maximum range of 2,500 km.
The basic An-148 variant is designed to carry passengers up to 5,000 kilometers. It is produced at the Antonov design bureau in Ukraine and in the western Russian city of Voronezh.
