Four Russians serving on the Captain Kurbatsky ship died on Thursday of poisoning after drinking bootleg alcohol in Indonesian port city of Banjarmasin, Indonesian MetroTV channel reported.
According to the TV channel, another three Russians were hospitalized following a shipboard party when 30 crew members mixed bootleg Chinese alcohol with other drinks. One of the crew members died on the spot.
The police are investigating, the report said, but a spokesman for the Russian Embassy in Jakarta said it had no information about the incident.
Authorities in South Kalimantan province are awaiting the results of the autopsies, MetroTV channel said.
