Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure prepared an unusual treat for its visitors – a three-day long winter wonderland was set up on its territory, which held ski races and hosted a parade of Father Frosts.

Ice sculptures of forest animals – squirrels, hedgehogs, hares and bears – featured along the sides of a long snow path.

A special machine generated snow, which proved to suffice for all three days.

The snow machine produced 35 cubic meters of snow each day, and over 100 cubic meters of snow were produced in the three days.

According to the project’s architect, Oleg Shapiro, 20% of the snow melted each day and the required quantity was restored during the night by the snow machine.

Winter activities were organized around the snow path, which included a ski race on the asphalt, running with a foot in a bucket and others. In addition, a lottery was drawn, the main prize of which was to take part in the filming of the movie Six Degrees of Celebration - 2012.

The 100 real fir trees, which were installed in the park’s fountain square, added to the winter mood in mid-summer.
