Three rockets landed in the Iraqi capital Baghdad's protected Green Zone on Monday whilst U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta was visiting the city, media quoted an Iraqi police source as saying.
No one was injured as a result of the attack on the area, which houses government buildings and foreign embassies, Xinhua reported.
The rockets were launched from the predominantly Shiite district of Zaafaraniyah in the southeast of Baghdad, which is loyal to a Shiite cleric who opposes the presence of U.S. troops in the country.
Panetta is expected to discuss keeping some troops in Iraq after 2011 during his visit.
