A team from Rostov has won at the Moscow Festival of Unusual Flying Objects. Their eleven-meter Styrofoam crawfish won over the jury, which included TV host Olga Shelest, Comedy Woman performer Natalia Medvedeva, Europe Plus Radio music editor Maxim Kochergin, and commander of the Russian Knights aerobatic team Demyan Chistyakov.

Thirty-nine teams from all over Russia came to Moscow’s Strogino District for the festival.

The jury awarded points for the distance of the “flight” as well as the creativity of the design.

Teams were also awarded style points for how they launched off the six-meter ramp.

Each model was launched in its own unpredictable way.

Teams were not able to test their flying machines before the festival.

This was the first and last flight for every flying machine.
