At least four people were killed and 43 injured after a massive gust of wind brought down a stage at the Indiana State Fair, CNN reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Previous reports said the scene collapse killed four and injured 24 people.
"A big gust of wind came through. You could see a lot of people panicking. All the scaffolding and speakers - all that came crashing down - and the whole stand just collapsed," CNN quoted eye-witness Aaron Richman as saying.
Capt. Brad Weaver, commander of special operations for the Indiana State Police, warned the audience of severe weather ten minutes before the incident, CNN said.
American singer and songwriter Sara Bareilles had finished her set at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand stage when the wind knocked down the framework of the stage, the TV channel said.
"I'm speechless and feel so helpless. My heart aches for the lives lost," CNN quoted her as saying on her Twitter page.
