It wouldn’t be easy to confuse the bomber’s silhouette with anything else, according to http://www.tvc.ru. Its 56 meter wingspan, eight paired turbojet engines and huge lift capacity held the Russian military in awe for a long time. The U.S. strategic bomber officially landed at the Moscow Region airfield on Saturday.

Despite its size and terrifying looks, the Stratofortress is obsolete by military aviation standards.

The B-52 will only be used for display purposes. It will not be part of the flight program.

In an interview with journalists, the U.S. delegates thanked Russia for inviting them to the Moscow air show and called cooperation between the United States and Russia rocket fuel for the soul.

The Аirbus А-380, a new entrant in the show, arrived at Zhukovsky Airfield the day before.

The Аirbus А-380 is a double-decker with a total area of 550 square meters, which is equal to three tennis courts. Its fuel consumption per passenger is not much beyond a hybrid car, less than three liters per person for 100 kilometers.

The Аirbus А-380 that arrived at the MAKS show is not fitted with passenger seats. It was a test plane that was part of the certification process. Now this plane is used to train airline flight crews and to test system upgrades.

The Аirbus А-380 will be used in demonstration flights every day through the length of the show.
