In July, the Russian government conferred national status to the voyage.

In the middle of November, the ship will arrive at the American port of Honolulu, Hawaii, the host city for the 2011 APEC leaders’ meeting. During the summit, a symbolic APEC summit handover ceremony involving Russian and U.S. leaders will take place aboard the ship. Vladivostok is the next host city for the summit.

During her trip, the Nadezhda will visit more than 15 countries, including the United States, Canada and Japan.

The trip sponsors will hold meetings, presentations and talks with business leaders of the Asia-Pacific countries on board the ship.

The sailing ship will also host roundtable discussions, campaigns, exhibitions and sports events.

The Nadezhda has completed dozens of voyages around the world.

In 2003, the ship left Vladivostok for an international trip dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first Russian circumnavigation of the world led by Adam Johann von Krusenstern and Yury Lisyansky.

The ship sailed 45,000 nautical miles in 14 months, visiting 30 ports in 20 countries. The Nadezhda is a many-time winner and medalist of international sailing regattas.
