After seeing tanks, Putin visited a static exposition where he was shown an artillery piece.

“Dmitry Anatolyevich [Medvedev] was taught to fire such a weapon,” Putin said, adding that it is no longer in service.

Putin was also shown the Rys (Lynx) armored vehicle, which is produced jointly with Italy’s Iveco, at a plant in the southwest Russian city of Voronezh.

Putin was also shown a serviceman’s universal kit, designed to ensure communication between units.

The premier also stood by a hardware and software stand providing automated control of military formations.

After inspecting the military hardware, Putin approached an icon painting stand of a regional public fund. An icon “The Angel of the Desert” depicting John the Baptist holding the soul of Jesus Christ was presented to him.
