The cruiser Varyag was the first to complete firing at air targets. Missile and artillery system operators aboard the destroyer Bystry (Fast) and the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Vinogradov (background) finished off the “enemy.”

This large Eastern Military District exercise involves more than 50 warships and supply ships, dozens of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, as well as nearly 10,000 military and civilian personnel.
