The 68th Venice Film Festival was held on August 31-September 10. The top prize, the Golden Lion, went to “Faust” by Russian director Alexander Sokurov.
Hockey player Alexander Galimov, one of the two survivors of last week's plane crash that wiped out almost the entire Lokomotiv Yaroslavl ice-hockey team, died in hospital early on September 12.
