Two Americans convicted of spying in Iran were released in a $1 million bail-for-freedom deal on Wednesday, Press TV reported.
Shane Michael Bauer and Joshua Felix Fattal were previously sentenced to eight years in prison on charges of illegal entry and espionage.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - due to address the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday - earlier said the men would be freed as a humanitarian gesture.
Sarah Emily Shourd, detained along with Bauer and Fattal, was released last September and refused to return to Iran for her trial, citing ill-health.
Bauer, Fattal and Shourd were arrested in July 2009 after illegally crossing the Iranian border from northern Iraq's Kurdistan region. They said they had accidently strayed over the unmarked border while hiking.
Bail for the two men was set at $500,000. The money is reported to have been handed over Oman officials.
