The Washington branch of the Madame Tussaud's wax museum is making a wax statue of the Russian NHL star Alexander Ovechkin, the museum said in its Twitter blog.
"We're excited to announce our newest figure to be immortalized in wax: Alex Ovechkin!!!" the museum said.
Ovechkin will be the second hockey player to be honored with a wax figure after Canadian star Wayne Gretzky.
"Alex was amazing for us to work with. He spent a lot of time with our sculptors from London during the process," Tussaud's said on its Facebook fan page.
