Yemeni President Abdullah Ali Saleh expressed his readiness to transfer power through early elections in the country, local media reported on Sunday.
"Let's all go towards dialogue, understanding and peaceful exchange of power through elections and early presidential elections," Saleh said.
Ali Abdullah Saleh returned to his home country on Friday after spending three months in a Saudi hospital. Saleh has been in Saudi Arabia since June, when he was seriously injured in a rocket attack on his palace in the capital, Sanaa.
Saleh has retained power despite months of protests against his 33-year rule.
Clashes have continued in Sanaa between government troops and anti-Saleh protesters.
