Police in the city of Podolsk near Moscow are investigating the murder of a senior finance official, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Monday.
The body of Vera Sviridova, who headed the local administration's financial department, was found earlier in the day in her house. The 53-year-old had been shot in the head.
