The Pepys Show installation popped up in Trafalgar Square for one day only to show passers-by how special next year will be for the British capital, and that London has much more to offer than just the Olympic Games.

The installation was inspired by Samuel Pepys, a Member of Parliament who kept a diary of London life from 1660 to 1669. Apart from Pepys’ personal memories, the diary chronicles the Great Fire of London and the Black Death.
Through the peepholes, visitors view exhibitions, new tourist destinations and street carnivals – the most inviting events coming up in London in 2012.
In 2012, jewelry designer Stephen Webster will invite visitors to a gemstone-studded afternoon tea, an indulgent ritual served amidst the exclusive jewelry and gems.
These faded prints show London in the 1940s and advertise would-be Churchill War Rooms museum, in which visitors will be able to dress, dance and even speak like people did during the Second World War.
After visiting the Pepys Show installation, passers-by can make their own calendar of London events for the coming year, which looks set to be one of athletic and cultural excellence.
