The music was taken from the classical operas by Monteverdi and Gluck, and the suite by U.S. composer Philip Glass, who was inspired by Jean Cocteau’s films "Orphee" ("Orpheus") and "Le testament d'Orphée" ("Testament of Orpheus").
Unusually, the dancers with Montalvo and Hervieu’s "Orphee" ("Orpheus") appear on stage together with the seven singers who voice some of the main character’s thoughts.
Most of the performers are working with Montalvo and Hervieu for the first time. The choreographers always welcome new artists. The best performers were selected from 700 candidates in October 2009.
