Russia’s Dmitry Tursunov has pulled out of his second-round match at the Shanghai Masters against Britain’s Andy Murray due to a thigh injury, the ATP tennis website reported on Wednesday.
The world No. 41 battled to a three-set victory Tuesday over Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil in the first round, and then later in the day went back on court with Tommy Robredo in the doubles.
The 28-year-old Tursunov, who has seven career titles and a ranking high of 20, is due in his native Russia for next week’s Kremlin Cup.
Murray, the world No. 4, gets a walkover into round three, where he faces Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka for a place in the quarterfinals.
