The Imperial Alexander Lyceum in Tsarskoye Selo was a private higher educational establishment for children of the Russian nobility and did not admit commoners.
The lyceum admitted children aged 10-12 years and trained them for top administrative, judicial and diplomatic positions. Its curriculum was repeatedly modified but maintained a focus on humanities and law.
