Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has been questioned by investigators in a new criminal case surrounding a $405-million debt her former company owed to the Russian Defense Ministry, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka said.
Tymoshenko headed the company, Ukrainian Energy Systems, in the 1990s.
“Tymoshenko was questioned as a defendant yesterday in the presence of her lawyer,” Pshonka said on Wednesday.
“The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) is in charge of the pre-trial investigation," he said.
