A powerful earthquake struck the city of Van in south-east Turkey, causing the collapse of a seven-storey building and trapping people under the rubble, the city mayor told NTV on Sunday.
The 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck the city at 13:40 local time (10:40 a.m. GMT) on Sunday. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 5 kilometers.
Many local residents are reported to have suffered from the earthquake but there have been no reports about victims so far.
