Forbes Magazine has compiled a rating of Russian business persons, scientists, artists and athletes who have become integrated in the international community and who have succeeded abroad. The magazine’s rankings are based on Google searches of popular Russian athletes in ten countries.

Maria Sharapova was on top of the world-famous athletes list with $24.8 million. Google index: 100. Maria Sharapova became the first Russian to reach number one in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ranking.
Ice hockey player Alexander Ovechkin was ranked second with $14 million. Google index: 26.8. In 2008, Ovechkin signed a 13-year contract worth $124 million with his club, the Capitals, the most expensive contract in the history of ice hockey.
Basketball player Andrei Kirilenko was ranked third with $17.8 million. Google index: 2.2. Kirilenko, the youngest player in the history of the Russian basketball championships, first played for Spartak St. Petersburg when he was not quite 16.
Versatile attacking midfielder and striker Andrei Arshavin from the Russian national football team and English Premier League team Arsenal was ranked fourth with $8 million. Google index: 13.
Yevgeny Malkin is at the bottom of Forbes Magazine’s Top Five list with $9 million. Google index: 3.8. After signing a contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2006, Malkin won the National Hockey League’s best rookie of the year award.
Russian ice hockey player Ilya Kovalchuk was ranked sixth with $7 million. Google index: 5.5. His goal allowed the Russian national team to win the 2008 IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) World Championships. In 2010, Kovalchuk signed a 15-year contract worth $100 million with the New Jersey Devils.
Tennis player Vera Zvonaryova is at the bottom of the Top Ten list with $3.2 million. Google index: 3.7. Since the start of her career, Zvonaryova who ranks among the most active Russian tennis players has earned almost $12 million in prize money. In 2010, Zvonaryova was ranked the world’s second best player by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
