At least three U.S. soldiers have been killed and several Afghan civilians injured by a suicide truck bomber in central Kabul.
The attack targeted a NATO convoy and occurred just a few hundred meters from the Russian embassy, our correspondent says.
On Friday, insurgents attacked a convoy of Afghan and international troops in the eastern Nangarhar province. A gun battle ensued, leaving about 30 militants dead, NATO said.
In a separate incident, a NATO soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Kandahar province on Friday.
