The United States will help law enforcement agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold investigation of Friday's terrorist attack on the US embassy in Sarajevo, U.S. Ambassador in the Balkan country Patrick Moon said on Saturday.
A gunman using an automatic weapon opened fire and injured one guard near the US embassy in Sarajevo on Friday. The man, whom TV reports identified as radical Islamist Mevlid Jasarevic, was wounded and hospitalized. No embassy staff was injured.
Jasarevic is expected to be released from the hospital into police custody on Saturday. The Bosnian authorities condemned his actions, calling it an act of terror.
Moon told reporters that relations between the two countries would not worsen after the attack though somebody tried to perish them.
