Anna Chapman, a former Russian spy who has engaged in journalism since being deported from the United States last year, is suspected of plagiarizing a column she wrote for a Russian newspaper.
The 29-year-old often appears in various Russian media, including in photo sessions for men's magazines. She has hosted a TV show and is also editor-in-chief of a small business newspaper, Venture Business News.
Editors of the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid claimed that Chapman wrote the October 31 article about her favorite poet, Alexander Pushkin, "exclusively" for Komsomolskaya Pravda.
However, bloggers said the column very much resembled an extract from Russian spin doctor Oleg Matveychev's book, "Sovereignty of Spirit."
This is not the first time Chapman's statements mirror Matveychev's works. In her speech to students of the St. Petersburg State University in late September, she quoted from the book almost word for word.
