About 200 Kremlin guard recruits took the oath of allegiance on the WWII memorial hill in western Moscow on Saturday, a Defense Ministry spokesman said.
“About 200 recruits of the Russian honorary guards from the separate commandant regiment stationed in Moscow took part in it [the ceremony],” Sergei Vlasov said.
The event gathered the federal and Moscow government officials, and the top brass of the Moscow military commandant’s office and also veterans, and recruits’ relations.
The 154th commandant regiment provides security at events involving the president, the premier and defense minister and also at meetings with foreign state delegations and other high-level events. The honorary guard regiment was set up 55 years ago.
