Nigerian pirates have released an oil tanker MT Halifax ship and its crew which they had seized off southern Nigeria two days ago, media reported on Saturday.
MT Halifax, flagged out of Malta, had a foreign crew of Filipinos and Indians and one Italian. The ship was seized in waters near Port Harcourt, the main city in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta.
In one of the recent attacks, Nigerian pirates seized the MT Cape Bird, a tanker with a crew of 20, including five Russians, in waters off Lagos on October 8. The crew was released on October 14.
