More than 100 people rallied on Thursday outside the Russian embassy in Paris in protest against alleged electoral fraud in Sunday’s parliament elections, RIA Novosti correspondents reported from the scene.
The demonstrators, holding slogans in French and in Russian, also urged the Russian authorities to allow public rallies in Moscow.
The majority of the demonstrators were young Russians living in France but there were also a few French nationals who had learned about the event from a social network.
The demonstration has not affected the mission’s operation in any way, embassy officials said.
Russia has seen four days of protests against suspected violations of voting procedure since Sunday's polls, in which Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's United Russia party just managed to maintain its majority.
Some 25,000 people are expected to attend a protest in Moscow on Saturday.
Some 1,000 people have so far been detained across Russia in demonstrations against suspected vote fraud.
