Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday wished his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin success in the March 4 presidential elections.
"I wish you success in Russian presidential elections in March next year," Singh said at a meeting with Putin. "Let me congratulate the people of Russia on the successful State Duma elections and the victory of United Russia."
Putin submitted documents on December 7 to be officially registered as a candidate in the March 2012 presidential elections. He was nominated as candidate at the pro-Kremlin United Russia's party congress on November 27.
