Police in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Vladivostok has opened a criminal case against the honorary consul of Ecuador, Yury Fedoseyev, over a fatal crash, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
On November 27, Fedoseyev drove into the opposite lane at high speed and collided head-on with another car. One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in the crash.
Fedoseyev, reportedly drunk while driving, refused to submit to an alcohol test.
He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
