Russian retired heavyweight boxer Nikolai Valuev, who was elected a parliament deputy from the ruling United Russia party in December, said on Wednesday he had asked that his chair in parliament be adjusted.
“It is a usual chair. It is same as for all the other deputies, the same width. It is only the back which is a bit higher,” Valuev told the Russia Today TV channel, adding that it had been made to special order.
“But today it was still quite uncomfortable to sit in it. I asked that when the chair is adjusted, that the back be made lower so that it would not strain my back. I have asked again today. Maybe they will readjust it,” he said after the State Duma held its first plenary session on Wednesday.
Valuev is 213 cm (7 ft) high tall and weighs about 140kg (308 pounds).
