Thousands of people attended a government-organized funeral in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Saturday for the victims of a bomb attack.
At least 26 people died in Friday’s blast, with some of the dead from the security forces.
The government said the blast was carried out by a suicide bomber. The opposition says the authorities were behind the explosion, which took place as Arab League monitors are in the country to assess the progress of a regional peace plan.
The UN says more than 5,000 civilians have been killed since protests against President Bashar al-Assad began 10 months ago.
The opposition says the government clampdown has continued, with dozens of deaths since the arrival of the monitors.
