The Russian authorities have spent 3 trillion rubles ($95 billion) on anti-crisis measures, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said.
“Overall, we have spent 3 trillion rubles on anti-crisis measures. This is a huge sum, but we have returned part of the funds, and with profit,” Putin told the Crisis 2008 program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
The premier stressed that many enterprises had cut the number of loans provided by western banks during the global crisis.
“Many enterprises started introducing new technology, energy saving technology, optimized their staff and began retraining people,” he said.
Putin also said the government is drafting bills and resolutions that would make it possible for the country to prepare for possible risks in case a second wave of the crisis occurs.
