One Belarusian and two Ukrainians have received 12-year prison sentences for growing marijuana and manufacturing other drugs in a bomb shelter in Russia’s second largest city St. Petersburg, the regional drug control directorate said on Wednesday.
The three men grew marijuana and produced large quantities of synthesized drugs in the leased bomb shelter, which also served as their storage facility.
A hi-tech computerized climate control system was used to ensure the necessary temperature, lighting, humidity and other conditions for the grow operation.
More than 130 marijuana plants were discovered at the facility.
