The best costumes at the European Figure Skating Championships 2012

On Saturday, January 28 the competitive portion of the European Figure Skating Championships 2012 was completed. The competitors' most beautiful costumes have been brought together in a photo gallery by R-Sport. Russian figure skater Ksenia Makarova chose a bright pink mini dress for her free program.

Ksenia Makarova had earlier performed her short program in a turquoise outfit.

The Italian figure skater Valentina Marchei chose a skimpy violet dress. Long gloves provided the finishing touches to this unusual outfit.

Her compatriot Carolina Kostner preferred an ensemble of this season's most fashionable colors - lemon yellow and green.

A classic black dress with red trim embellished the performance of Elena Gedevanishvili from Georgia in the free program.

Russian figure skater Sergei Voronov performed his short program in a black and white costume that looked like a football.

Ukrainian figure skater Dmitry Ignatenko was decked out in a Spanish matador costume.

Ekaterina Ryazanova and Ilya Tkachenko turned up in matching classic black costumes. The female half of the partnership wore an unconventional pleated skirt.

For their short program Nathalie Péchalat and Fabian Bourzat from France preferred more light-hearted costumes with warmer hues.

The French pair Nathalie Péchalat and Fabian Bourzat clinched gold with their free program dressed as ancient Egyptians.
