There is a freakish feel to winter in the Crimea this year. Blizzards have replaced the near summer weather (when the temperature climbed to 14 degrees Celsius), followed by the cold returning to the coastline, which, together with the gale force winds, covered the cliffs and beaches with a layer of ice.
