The Moroccan King Mohammed VI signed a decree on Sunday that grants amnesty to a group of Islamists who were behind the terrorist attack on Casablanca in 2003, Egyptian media reported.
Among the released there are members of the radical Islamist movement, Islamic Jihad, who were convicted on terrorism charges for organizing a terrorist attack in Casablanca in 2003 that killed 45 and injured dozens.
Islamists, who are gaining influence in many African states, occupy the majority of seats in Moroccan parliament.
