Russian business should support the authorities in the run-up to the presidential election, VTB bank head Andrei Kostin said on Thursday at a business lobby group meeting.
The fate of those who support a revolution is not always a happy one, he said. “We are bound to express our opinion, and declare that we support authority. I want to remind that you that Savva Morozov supported the Bolsheviks and made his contribution in 1917, then went mad and killed himself,” Kostin said.
Four candidates are standing in the presidential poll on March 4, the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin (United Russia), Gennady Zyuganov (Communist Party), Sergei Mironov (A Fair Russia), Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR) and billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, standing as an independent.
