Supporters of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin are planning to organize a car rally in central Moscow on Saturday, its organizers said.

Up to 1,500 people are expected to take part in the demonstration planned for Saturday evening, the Network of Putin Supporters said in a statement on Wednesday.

A remix of Putin's vocals of the popular jazz song Blueberry Hill will become the symbol of the rally, the organizers said, adding that CDs with the song will be distributed among rally participants.

Putin sang Blueberry Hill in English with jazz performers during a charity event for children diagnosed with cancer in St. Petersburg in December 2010. That concert then sparked a scandal when children hospitals complained that they had not received any money from the high-profile event.

The organizers were planning to submit an authorization request for the rally to the Moscow Mayor’s Office on Wednesday, one of the organizers told RIA Novosti.

A Mayor’s Office official hinted that the rally was likely to be approved.
