Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has instructed a working group be created to create a so-called Hyde Park in the country's capital where people could gather, hold rallies and speak their minds, the mayor's press secretary, Gulnara Penkova, said on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin suggested creating a space in Moscow similar to London's Hyde Park where people could express their opinions.
"The issue of determining where a Hyde Park could be created demands detailed planning with social organizations, social experts, and the residents of the city," Penkova said.
She said Deputy Mayor Alexander Gorbenko, who approves or disapproves where protest rallies and other events take place, will coordinate the issue of creating Moscow's Hyde Park.
