Rescuers have pulled three miners trapped underground after rock collapse in an iron ore mine in Siberia to the surface, the regional emergencies center said on Sunday.
“At 12:40 p.m. Moscow time (08:40 GMT), the rescue operation was successfully completed. At 12:55 p.m. Moscow time, the miners were pulled to the surface. There are no injured among the miners. The work to eliminate the consequences of the accident is continuing,” the emergencies center said.
The rock collapsed at the Poteryayevsky mine in the town of Rubtsovsk in the Altai Territory early on Sunday at a depth of about 100 meters.
Three people were trapped underground. The work of the mine was suspended and 96 miners were evacuated to the surface.
