WORLD

*The Arab League envoy to Russia has dismissed Moscow's fears of a foreign military intervention in Syria, saying that neither local opposition groups nor international powers were in favor of such a solution to the Syrian crisis.

*Iran has threatened to stop exporting oil to more European countries - Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and the Netherlands - if they continue to take actions directed against Tehran, Al Arabiya reported.

*The European Union has sufficient oil stocks to do without Iranian crude oil supplies for four and a half years, European Commission spokeswoman Marlene Holzner said.

RUSSIA

*Russian Prime Minister and presidential candidate Vladimir Putin will win the presidential election on March 4 with 58.6 percent of the vote in the first round, according to a survey conducted by state-run pollster VTsIOM.

*The shares of Russia’s largest beer producer Baltika jumped 9 percent to 1,340 rubles per share in MICEX-RTS afternoon trade on news that the company’s core shareholders Carlsberg would boost its stake in the brewery to 100 percent.

*Russian billionaire and presidential candidate Mikhail Prokhorov unveiled plans to build the second hybrid Yo-mobile plant in the Russian Far East.
