A watchful neighbor ruined a romantic stunt by a Vladivostok resident who tried to climb up to the window of his girlfriend, but was poked in the eye with a mop.
The romantic young man, whose name was withheld, was kicked out of his apartment in the far eastern city by his girlfriend over a lovers’ spat, local television OTV said.
The man decided to climb into the apartment window on the second floor to apologize, the report said. It did not specify the incident’s date, saying only that it happened late at night.
But the noise that the man made when climbing the bars on a first floor window woke up the neighbor, OTV said, dubbing the climber a “Spiderman.”
The first floor resident demanded an explanation, but only received verbal abuse. He then grabbed a mop and started poking outside with the handle, hitting the “Spiderman” in the eye and knocking him down.
The relentless young man did not give up, but a second climbing attempt ended with him poked in the other eye and also brought down. Upon the third try, the neighbor called the police, which detained both the young man and his girlfriend for questioning, OTV said. It remained unclear whether they faced any penalties.
