March in support of fair elections in St. Petersburg

Supporters of Russia’s non-parliamentary opposition groups marched in St. Petersburg on Saturday in support of fair elections. 25.02.2012, Sputnik International
Opposition figurehead and anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny, chess champion-turned-politician Garry Kasparov and Sergei Udaltsov, a leader of the Left Front movement, joined the march.
The organizers initially planned to march along the central Nevsky Avenue, but the authorities moved the protest to another location in the city center.
Riot police were deployed to the site of the protest which ended with a demonstration on central Konyushennaya Square.
