Russian opposition activists attempted Sunday to make a chain, holding hands around the 15.4-kilometer (9.5 miles) Garden Ring road that encircles central Moscow. The flashmob was the latest in a series of protest rallies demanding fair presidential elections on March 4, which Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is expected to win. Meanwhile, Putin’s supporters also gathered on the Garden Ring wearing heart-shaped signs, which said, “Putin loves everyone.”
