Striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has fallen ill and will not play in Russia's friendly against Denmark on Wednesday, coach Dick Advocaat has said.
The match pits together two teams to have won their respective Euro 2012 qualifying groups and will provide the first clues as to whether they can maintain top form going into the summer tournament.
"Pavlyuchenko won't be playing against Denmark," Advocaat said late Tuesday. "Roman has fallen ill, and we can't risk his health."
Advocaat has options in attack after the Lokomotiv Moscow forward's withdrawal and is able to call upon Zenit's Alexander Kerzhakov, Fulham striker Pavel Pogrebnyak or Dynamo Moscow's Alexander Kokorin from his 21-man squad.
The Denmark match is the first in a series of four warm-up games for the championships in Ukraine and Poland. Russia hosts Uruguay on May 25, before traveling to Switzerland to play Latvia on May 29 and Italy on June 1.
