Zenit St. Petersburg goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev could face CSKA Moscow when the Russian Premier League resumes Saturday after recovering from a calf injury quicker than expected.
The injury meant Malafeev missed Zenit's 3-2 defeat of Benfica in the Champions League earlier this month, and was replaced in the Russian national squad by Sergei Ryzhikov of Rubin Kazan for Wednesday's friendly against Denmark.
"I've started training for future Zenit games with the guys who for one reason or another are not on international duty," Malafeev told RIA Novosti on Wednesday. "I feel good, I plan on traveling with the team [Zenit] to Moscow for the CSKA game," he said.
Zenit lead the Russian Premier League on 65 points with 14 games remaining. CSKA follow, six points back.
