One of the two militants, killed in a special operation on Saturday in Russian North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia, was identified as the leader of a local terrorist sabotage group, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAK) said.
Adam Tsyzdoyev, 33, the leader of the Ingush militant gang, was killed as the law enforcers opened a fire at the car with the alleged militants inside.
“As the result of the retaliatory fire, militants were fatally injured by the home-made explosive device hidden in their car,” NAK said in a statement. “One of the eliminated militants has been recognized as Adam Tsyzdoyev.”
The second killed militant has yet to be recognized.
